Biografi :
Michael Joseph Jackson atau lebih dikenal dengan nama Michael Jackson, lahir di Gary, Indiana, Amerika, 29 Agustus 1958. Selain dikenal sebagai penyanyi R&B, penulis lagu dan juga aktor, Jacko juga menjadi 'icon' break dance dunia yang memiliki gaya dan dandanan khas.

Perjalanan hidup Jacko yang penuh kontroversial juga membawa dirinya begitu populer. Jacko adalah pria penuh masalah dan berulang kali menghadapi tuntutan pengadilan. Di antaranya tuntutan telah melakukan aktivitas seks menyimpang dengan anak-anak, meski kemudian hal itu tidak terbukti.

Saudara penyanyi Janet Jackson ini, mengawali karir sejak usia tujuh tahun, memimpin grup musik The Jackson 5 dengan album pertamanya Got to Be There (1971). Dan pada 1979 memilih bersolo karir.

Mantan istri Lisa Marie Presley dan Debbie Rowe ini dalam sejarahnya berhasil membawa albumnya, Thriller terjual hingga 104 juta copy, dan sejumlah penghargaan diterimanya.

Kini Jacko 'menjauh' dari publikasi dan karirnya semakin terpuruk. Namun demikian ia tetap melegenda di dunia pop.

Jacko bermaksud kembali menggelar konsernya. Rencana comeback ini akan dimulai dengan konser 30 hari di arena O2 London, Inggris.

Rencana Jacko untuk menggelar konsernya terpaksa harus kandas. Kamis, 25 Juni 2009, Jacko menghembuskan nafasnya yang terakhir karena serangan jantung yang fatal.

Sebelumnya, Raja Pop ini sempat tak sadarkan diri di mansionnya di kawasan Holmby Hills, Los Angeles. Segera ia dilarikan ke rumah sakit. Petugas medis berupaya keras memberikan pertolongan dan berusaha agar ia tetap hidup. Mereka melakukan berbagai bantuan pernafasan, namun sayangnya Michael tidak beraksi sama sekali.

Jacko meninggal di usia ke-50 dengan ditemani para anggota keluarga termasuk ibu dan saudara laki-lakinya yang terus berada di samping tempat tidurnya.

Michael meninggalkan tiga orang anak, Prince Michael (12), Paris (10), dan Prince Michael II (10).
